Chianti Animals: Tabby Cats

The tabby cat has a distinctive coat that features stripes, dots, or swirling patterns. Tabbies are sometimes erroneously assumed to be a breed of cat. In fact, the tabby pattern is a naturally occurring feature that may be related to the coloration of the domestic cat's distant ancestor, the African Wildcat.
The word, adapted from the name of a kind of textile, in medieval Latin attabi The distant origin of the word seems to be from the Asian region of Attabiyah where a type of striped silk was made that was later used to describe cats.
Tabby type cats are considered common cats from Middle Ages.
Often, an 'M' shape appears on the forehead.
The tabby is not a breed of cat, nor is it a coat color. It's simply a coat pattern. It can show up in combination with a variety of coat colors :gray, dark or light brown.
Similar to the wild cat, It is independent and likes hunting. If possible the Tabby cat loves living at home and outside, in open spaces.
And here are happy to introduce our small village friends:Boh, Penelope and Bionda
